On March 22, 2010, the most glorious performance event to ever grace planet Earth will occur in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. I speak, of course, of William Shatner Beat Night, a.k.a. “The Night We Shat Ourselves.”
On that night, dozens of Seacoast residents will gather at the Coat of Arms British Pub to watch a handful of spoken word performers recite everything from beat poetry, to Shakespearean soliloquy, to casserole recipes, all in the style of Bill Shatner, the greatest actor of all time.
It was my pleasure—nay, an honor and a privilege—to be selected as the illustrator and graphic designer for this monumental event. My first task was the logo. I took a couple of cues from beatnik era styles and produced this swanky, martini-slinging number.
Be sure to follow the Shatinator on Twitter for more information on William Shatner Beat Night, and come back in a few days, when I unveil the official WSBN poster. Set phasers to awesome.
